Details & Services

Annual Exams
Annual exams start at the age of 21 and can include a review of your medical and surgical history, pap smear, pelvic exam, breast exam, health counseling and lab tests.

Contraceptive Counseling
There are many contraceptive options available today. It is important to discuss these with your doctor so that you can make an informed decision that is right for your health.

Pelvic Pain
Not all pain is related to the female reproductive system, but sometimes the uterus, ovaries, tubes or even endometriosis can be the cause. With a physical exam and our on-site ultrasound, we can help evaluate the origin of your pain and provide recommendations for treatment or referral if it does not appear to be Gynecology related.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Many women experience irregular or heavy menstrual bleeding, which can interfere with everyday activities and quality of life. The good news is that you don’t have to suffer! There are many therapies and treatments available for these conditions. Schedule an appointment so we can discuss your options.

Incontinence and Prolapse
With time, many women develop issues with support of the pelvic organs or develop urinary incontinence issues. These concerns can be disruptive to a woman’s life but they don't have to be. At Cornerstone Clinic for Women, we have an experienced board-certified Urogynecologist, who has been providing assistance to women with these concerns for over 13 years. There are multiple treatment options designed to treat these disorders and restore your quality of life.

Hormone Evaluations
Women across all age groups — teens, 20s, 30s, up into the 60s and beyond — can experience symptoms of hormone imbalance or deficiency. These can include premenstrual mood changes, breast tenderness, irregular or heavy periods, acne, low sex drive, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, insomnia and more. Oftentimes, these symptoms can be relieved or improved by traditional treatments such as birth control pills, antidepressants or commercially available hormone replacement. But for those who don’t get relief or who have side effects from more traditional therapies, Cornerstone Clinic for Women offers comprehensive hormone evaluations with several treatment options that are tailored to your individual needs.

da Vinci® Robotic Surgery
With the da Vinci Surgical System, our surgeons operate through just a few small incisions. Key features include a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. As a result, da Vinci enables our surgeons to operate with enhanced vision, precision and control, allowing them to accomplish a more complicated surgery with smaller incisions, a shorter hospital stay, and quicker return to work and activities.

Surgical Procedures
Our experienced physicians are experts in the full range of gynecologic surgery. Often, surgery can be performed minimally invasively with techniques that use tiny video cameras and surgical instruments to reduce injury and shorten recovery times. As specialists in gynecologic surgery, we will evaluate each situation individually and help you decide on the surgical approach that best meets your needs. Some common surgeries offered through Cornerstone Clinic for Women include:

Ablation Procedures for Bleeding
Endometrial ablation is a procedure that destroys (ablates) the uterine lining (endometrium). This procedure is done to control prolonged, heavy uterine bleeding that has not responded to other treatments, and can also be an alternative to a hysterectomy for some patients. During the procedure, a viewing instrument called a hysteroscope is used to see inside the uterus. The ablation can be accomplished with a laser beam, heat, freezing, electricity or microwave. Each case is unique and will be discussed on an individual basis and most of the time can be done in the office.

Women over the age of 35 who have been trying to conceive for more than six months without pregnancy should come in for evaluation.

Menopause

While menopause is a natural part of aging, it doesn’t come without discomfort or a few bumps in the road. Our team is ready to help guide you through this stage of life and help relieve symptoms. Signs of menopause could include:

  • Irregular periods

Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the ovaries or fallopian tubes. It often shows no symptoms during the early stages, making it important to talk to your doctor about ovarian cancer during your annual wellness exam. While we do not treat cancer at Cornerstone, we are able to detect it with state-of-the-art ultrasound technology and refer you to the best cancer specialists in the area. Common symptoms include irregular periods, weight gain, excess hair growth and oily skin. PCOS can lead to other serious health issues like diabetes or cardiovascular problems.
