Essure (incisionless tubal) in the office
Essure® is permanent birth control that works with your body to create a natural barrier against pregnancy.
A small Essure® insert is permanently placed into each of your fallopian tubes by your doctor. These inserts work with your body to form a natural barrier that keeps sperm from reaching the eggs, preventing pregnancy. While the natural barrier forms over time, another form of birth control must be used.
Anesthesia is used for this procedure, which can be performed at our clinic or the hospital.
Da Vinci Robotic Surgery
With the da Vinci Surgical System, our surgeons operate through just a few small incisions. The da Vinci System features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. As a result, da Vinci enables your surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision and control.
Urinary incontinence, or the loss of bladder control, is a common and often embarrassing problem. There are different types of incontinence, all of which can cause disruptions in your daily life. Stress incontinence happens when physical movement or activity — such as coughing, sneezing, running or heavy lifting — puts pressure (stress) on your bladder. Urge incontinence occurs when you have a sudden urge to urinate. In urge incontinence, the bladder contracts when it should not, causing some urine to leak through the sphincter muscles. It is also known as overactive bladder, bladder spasms, spasmodic bladder, irritable bladder, or detrusor instability. At Cornerstone Clinic for Women, we provide multiple treatment options aimed at restoring your bladder health. Please call our office at 501-224-5500 to schedule a consultation.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Our physicians are trained and experienced in performing minimally invasive surgery, including Laparoscopic surgery. In minimally invasive surgery, our surgeons use a variety of techniques to operate with less injury to the body than with open surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is done using one or more small incisions in combination with small tubes, tiny video cameras, and surgical instruments. Patient recovery time with laparoscopic surgery is shortened in comparison to an open procedure.
Ablation Procedures for Bleeding
Endometrial Ablation is a procedure that destroys (ablates) the uterine lining (endometrium). This procedure is done to control prolonged, heavy uterine bleeding that has not responded to other treatments. This procedure is also an alternative to a hysterectomy in patients that are unable to undergo a hysterectomy. During the procedure, a viewing instrument, called a hysteroscope, is used to see inside the uterus. The ablation can be done by a laser beam, heat, freezing, electricity, or microwave. Each case is individualized and will be discussed with your doctor on an individual basis.
